Sandy Reisky


Sandy’s companies have developed over $4 billion of wind and solar facilities now operating around the country. He was founder and president of Greenlight Energy, a leading independent wind energy company that was acquired by BP in 2006. Sandy was also the founder of Axio Power, a utility-scale solar developer; Columbia Power Technologies, a pioneer in wave energy technology; and Greenlight Biofuels, a waste-to-energy company. In 2014, Sandy was appointed to serve on the newly created Virginia Energy Council by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. He was also presented with the Leadership in Energy Award at the Keystone Center’s 20th Annual Leadership Awards dinner. He has a BS in commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Mark Goodwin


Mark leads the Apex team and the execution of corporate strategy. He has direct responsibility for project development, construction and engineering, resource assessment, technology, procurement, and asset management. Prior to joining Apex, Mark was a director at Horizon Wind Energy with broad responsibilities in project execution and technology, as well as the lead commercial negotiator for all turbine supply, installation, operations, and maintenance agreements. Prior to Horizon, Mark worked for the wind turbine manufacturer Vestas as sales manager for North America. Mark is a former naval officer and helicopter pilot. He holds a BS in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Jim Trousdale

Jim brings more than 20 years of international and domestic finance experience, including in renewable energy. Previously, Jim was an energy project finance and loan structuring banker at Fortis, CIT, and Citigroup, where he financed billions of dollars (thousands of megawatts) of utility-scale projects in wind, solar, and fossil fuel­­–based power generation. Prior to Apex, Jim was a director at Greenlight Energy. Jim has a BA and an MA/SFS from Georgetown University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Steve Vavrik

Steve brings 20 years of power development experience to Apex, having worked at GE Capital, Enron, Dynegy, First Wind, and SunPower. During his career, Steve has worked directly on the development of over $3 billion of wind and solar projects that are now operating. Steve earned a JD from Yale Law School, an MPA from Princeton, and MS and BS degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois.
