Apex Clean Energy Wins Green Power Market Development Award
Charlottesville, VA – October 17, 2016 – For its overall leadership in bringing wind capacity to market and expansion of direct purchasing of clean energy by the public and private sectors, Apex Clean Energy was awarded the 2016 Green Power Leadership Award for Green Power Market Development by the Center for Resource Solutions.
The Green Power Market Development Award recognizes individual renewable energy leaders and organizations that have helped increase the demand for clean energy through their actions. The award was presented at a ceremony held in conjunction with the Renewable Energy Markets 2016 conference on October 17 in San Francisco, CA. Accepting the award on behalf of Apex was Ellen Balfrey, senior director of business development.
“The ability of Apex Clean Energy to emerge as a recognized leader is due to years of diligent work to build a national pipeline of the best available wind resources,” said Mark Goodwin, CEO of Apex. “Our ability to raise the significant private capital investment necessary to bring those resources through the development cycle and into the market reflect the solid economics of Apex projects and a shared belief in our mission to accelerate the shift to clean energy.”
Apex Clean Energy builds, owns, and operates utility-scale wind and solar power facilities. Last year, Apex was the market leader in the United States, with 1,042 megawatts of new wind capacity installations, enough clean energy to supply the population of a city the size of Boston or San Francisco each year for the life of the facilities.
With a team of over 200 professionals and the nation’s largest wind energy project pipeline, Apex is a leader in the transition to a clean energy future. For more information, visit www.apexcleanenergy.com.
