Apex Wind Energy Acquires Assets of Wesco Wind, LLC

Charlottesville, VA – August 5, 2009 – Apex Wind Energy, Inc. today announced an agreement to acquire the wind energy project assets of WESCO Wind LLC., a developer of utility‐scale wind energy projects. The purchase includes seven early stage wind development projects with the potential to support over 1,400 megawatts of wind energy capacity.

“This transaction is a great fit for us,” said Jim Trousdale, CFO of Apex. “It adds several projects to our portfolio in markets that are predicted to exhibit significant demand for wind energy over the next five years. Our goal is to partner with other developers; we bring capital and experience to transform prospective wind projects into operating facilities.”

The Apex management team has completed over $1 billion in wind power facilities in Colorado, Kansas, New York, Texas, Wyoming, and the Netherlands. Their track record includes $22 billion of structured finance transactions completed for wind and conventional energy projects.
