That’s all we do and all we’ve ever done. That’s why we’re the only company in the energy industry that can build a wind farm from scratch, or assume control at any point in a wind farm’s lifespan and run it for maximum profit, performance, efficiency, safety, and lifespan.
When utilities need turnkey clean energy solutions, they turn to us.
Since its inception, Apex has seen and invested in opportunities where others simply saw risk. Case in point is the Gulf Coast of Texas, where demand is rising for projects that are now viewed as consistent and economic generators of power in one of the fastest-growing regions in the country. Our projects are sited in places that blend the best wind resource with high potential for offtake, creating the nation’s strongest clean energy portfolio.
Regulated Utility Partnerships |
Apex focuses on what utilities prioritize most, including access to transmission, exceptional wind resources, and strong relationships with landowners and surrounding communities. Apex recently completed transactions for the sale of two projects to different utilities in the Midcontinent ISO. |
Strategic Offtake |
Apex worked with Gulf Power and Morgan Stanley Commodities Group to deliver Oklahoma wind energy from the Kingfisher project to Gulf Power’s grid several hundred miles away. This transaction won Financial Deal of the Year at the Platts Global Energy Awards in 2015. |
Hybrid Capabilities & Direct Delivery |
The combined Cotton Plains Wind/Phantom Solar facility is the Army’s largest single renewable energy project to date and its first hybrid. Wind energy is delivered from Cotton Plains, which is approximately 350 miles from Fort Hood, while Phantom Solar is located on-site and behind the utility meter on the U.S. Army garrison. |
Apex Clean Energy is focused on innovating in the field of community outreach to support the successful completion and public acceptance of its renewable energy projects. Apex developers are in constant dialogue with local landowners and stakeholders and are regular participants in community meetings, information sessions, and other events to help foster strong support for its projects.
