Apex Wind Energy Acquires Assets of GGW Renewable Resources, LLC

Charlottesville, VA – September 14, 2009 – Apex Wind Energy, Inc. today announced an agreement to acquire the wind energy project assets of GGW Renewable Resources LLC, (“GGW’) a developer of utility‐scale wind energy projects based in Oklahoma. Fully‐built, the projects have the potential to support up to 2,150 megawatts of wind energy capacity.

“Utilizing a systematic approach, GGW built a portfolio of high quality projects over the past three years”, said Jim Trousdale, CFO of Apex. “They started by engaging a leading meteorological firm to create a high‐resolution map of the region. They did an excellent job selecting suitable sites with a strong wind resource proximate to transmission capacity. We look forward to working with GGW to advance these projects through the development cycle.”

The Apex management team has completed over $1 billion in wind power facilities in Colorado, Kansas, New York, Texas, Wyoming, and the Netherlands. Their track record includes $22 billion of structured finance transactions completed for wind and conventional energy projects.
