Apex Acquires Development Assets from IPA Wind Development LLC

Charlottesville, VA – August 1, 2012 – Apex Wind Energy, Inc. (“Apex”) has acquired a portfolio of wind development projects near the Texas Gulf Coast from IPA Wind Development LLC. These projects combined have the potential to support over 500 MW of capacity.

“The south coast of Texas offers a premium wind energy resource with high capacity factors and significant on-peak production,” said Jeff Ferguson, Apex VP of Development, based in Houston. “This is also an area with a large and growing demand for electricity. We look forward to working with landowners, local and state agencies, and utilities to realize these projects.”

Apex is currently constructing the 300 MW Canadian Hills Wind project outside Oklahoma City with commercial operations planned for the end of 2012.
