East Texas Electric Cooperative (ETEC) and Northeast Texas Electric Cooperative (NTEC) Announce Renewable Wind Energy Purchase Agreements Totaling 101.2 MW

Nacogdoches, TX--November 24, 2014 – East Texas Electric Cooperative and Northeast Texas Electric Cooperative have joined forces to bring 101.2 MW of renewable wind energy into the mix for their member-owned cooperatives in east Texas. The two Texas electric cooperatives have signed Renewable Energy Purchase Agreements (REPAs) for wind generation from Apex Clean Energy subsidiary Grant Wind, LLC. This project will produce about 150 MW of electricity, enough to help power over 56,000 ETEC and NTEC homes. The project is expected to come online in 2015.

Ikea Makes First Wind Farm Investment in the United States

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – April 10, 2014 — IKEA US announced today that it is making its first wind farm investment in the United States with the purchase of Hoopeston Wind in Hoopeston, Illinois. The 98 megawatt wind farm is the largest single IKEA Group renewable energy investment globally to date and will make a significant contribution to the company’s goal to generate as much renewable energy as the total energy it consumes by 2020. The project is currently being constructed by Apex Clean Energy and is expected to be fully operational by the first half of 2015.

Apex Clean Energy and Western Farmers Electric Cooperative Announce 100MW Renewable Energy Purchase Agreement

ANADARKO, OK, November 12, 2013 – Apex Clean Energy, through its subsidiary Balko Wind, LLC, has signed a Renewable Energy Purchase Agreement (REPA) with Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC) for 100 megawatts (MW) of wind energy from Apex’s Balko Wind project. With this agreement, Apex has sold the remaining 100 MW of the 300 MW capacity project, which will produce enough electricity to power over 110,000 U.S. homes. The project is expected to come online in 2015.

Apex Clean Energy Signs 200 MW Renewable Energy Purchase Agreement with Westar Energy

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, November 6, 2013 – Apex Clean Energy has signed a Renewable Energy Purchase Agreement (REPA) with Westar Energy for 200 MW of wind energy from Apex’s Kay Wind project. The 300 MW Kay Wind project, expected to begin construction in 2015, will produce enough electricity to power over 102,000 U.S. homes.

Apex Clean Energy Wins Multiple Award Task Order Contract from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, September 3, 2013 – Apex Clean Energy, LLC has been selected to compete for contracts to provide renewable energy to U.S. Army and other Department of Defense facilities. The largest single consumer of energy in the world, the Department of Defense is mandated to meet at least 25% of its facilities’ energy needs with renewable energy by 2025.

Apex Clean Energy Signs PPAs with Pacificorp in Utah for 160 MW

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, July 23, 2013 – Apex Clean Energy has signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) with PacifiCorp for Apex’s Long Ridge Wind project in Utah. Both agreements are anticipated to receive final state approval by late summer of this year. The 160 MW of wind energy, comprising two 80 MW projects, will produce enough electricity to power approximately 43,000 average U.S. homes.

Apex Wind Energy Acquires Development Assets from Energy of Utah

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, April 19, 2013 – Apex Wind Energy has acquired three projects from Energy of Utah, L.L.C. These assets have the potential to support over 600 MW of capacity in Utah and Arizona.

Apex Wind Energy Completes 300 MW Canadian Hills Wind Facility

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, January 21, 2013 – Apex Wind Energy, Inc. (“Apex”) has announced the completion of the development and construction of the approximately 300 MW Canadian Hills Wind project (the “Project”). The Project, which is located just outside of Oklahoma City, OK, began commercial operation on December 22, 2012. Canadian Hills is the largest single-phase wind farm to be developed and constructed in Oklahoma, increasing the state’s installed wind capacity by 13%. Apex maintains a minority ownership interest in the Project.

Apex Wind Energy Acquires Interest in the Baileyville Wind Farm

Apex Wind Energy Acquires BQ Energy

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – June 22, 2009; Apex Wind Energy, Inc. today announced an agreement to acquire BQ Energy LLC., a developer of utility‐scale wind energy projects. BQ Energy develops wind energy facilities located on industrial, military and brownfield sites. The purchase includes BQ Energy’s project development pipeline.

BP To Buy Greenlight Energy Inc.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – August 15, 2006 BP has reached agreement to buy Greenlight Energy Inc., a U.S. based developer of wind power generation projects. The purchase will allow BP to accelerate its plans to develop a leading wind power business in North America.

BP will acquire all the shares of Greenlight Energy for consideration of over $100 million. The companies expect to complete the transaction in the third quarter of this year.

Greenlight Energy Signs Agreement with Xcel Energy for 300 MW Wind Energy Project in Colorado

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA –December 28, 2005–Greenlight Energy, Inc. today announced it has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Public Service Company of Colorado (PSCo), a subsidiary of Xcel Energy, for the electricity generated by a 300 MW wind power facility scheduled for completion in late 2007. Greenlight’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Cedar Creek Wind Energy, LLC, and Babcock & Brown LP through a joint venture will develop, build, own and operate the proposed $480 million wind energy facility to be located in Northeastern Colorado.

Greenlight Energy Completes Sale of Kansas Wind Power Development Project - Signs Agreement with PPM Energy for 150-Megawatt Project

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA—December 14, 2004 — Greenlight Energy, Inc., a wind energy company, today announced the sale of the Elk River project in Butler County, Kansas. PPM Energy, Inc., ScottishPower’s competitive U.S. energy business, agreed to purchase Greenlight Energy’s subsidiary Elk River Windfarm, LLC, and will own and operate the 150- megawatt wind energy facility. Greenlight, which began development of the project in 2002, also negotiated a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Empire District Electric Company to purchase the energy generated from the wind farm.
